Private Reference, Not a Government Office. Carlsbad Residents Directory does not hold official files. It cannot retrieve records, certify copies, confirm who lives at an address, or change a roll or database. Send those requests to the custodian that maintains the record. For an emergency, call 911. If you believe stalking or harassment is occurring, contact local police.

Where to Request a Carlsbad Record

The correct contact depends on the record type. These are the documented routes for Carlsbad and San Diego County research:

San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk: The consolidated county office handles assessment information, recorded real-property instruments, public and confidential marriages, fictitious business names, and notary or authentication services. Use the ARCC service hub and the Official Records Index. For ownership research, the Assessor Public Information Line is 619-236-3771. Mail Recorder copy requests to San Diego Recorder/County Clerk, ATTN: Real Estate Records, P.O. Box 121750, San Diego CA 92112-1750; recorder staff can be reached at 619-238-8158.

San Diego County Registrar of Voters: Headquarters are at 5600 Overland Avenue, San Diego CA 92123. Published normal hours are 8-5 Monday-Friday. Registration questions may be directed to 858-565-5800 or rovmail@sdcounty.ca.gov. The county lookup is for a voter’s own address, date of birth, and ZIP verification, not an open name search.

Georgina Cole Library: The Genealogy & Carlsbad History Division is on the mezzanine at 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad CA 92008. Call 442-339-2931 or email genealogy@carlsbadca.gov. Published hours are Monday-Thursday 9-7, Friday-Saturday 9-5, and Sunday 1-5. The division offers local-history, directory, newspaper, yearbook, microform, and genealogy database access, but it does not certify county or state records.
