Information You Choose to Send
A name, phone number, or address entered into a lookup form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Our own servers do not keep a copy of those searches. If you contact us, the information we receive is the content of your message and is used to respond.
Information Collected in Site Logs
Hosting systems may record ordinary technical details, such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those details are reviewed in aggregate to maintain the service and understand which Carlsbad records pages are useful. Cookies or related tools may support basic analytics and, if used, advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
Technical information may be used to operate the pages, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from this information.
When a Link Leaves This Site
Pages may link to San Diego County and California records portals, Carlsbad municipal resources, Georgina Cole Library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Each outside service controls its own data practices and privacy terms. Sponsored search results are supplied by a third party, so information entered there is governed by that provider.
Who Can Process It
Hosting and support providers may process the technical logs needed to run the pages. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure can also occur when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, the information is not disclosed for unrelated purposes.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as the operating purposes require. There are no user accounts, so this site does not hold a password or account profile for you.
People Under 18
Carlsbad Residents Directory is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, contact us so the material can be removed.
California Privacy Choices
Where applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, can provide rights to know or access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information, and receive equal treatment. Coverage and exceptions matter. Civil Code §1798.99.80 defines a data broker, while the Delete Act and the California Privacy Protection Agency’s DROP mechanism address deletion requests for registered data brokers under the current implementation.
The California Public Records Act, or CPRA, is the public-records law in Government Code §§7920.000–7931.000. It governs requests for identifiable existing records held by California state or local custodians, not records held by this private reference. Government offices retain control of their own public records, so a deletion request for a county, city, or state record must go to that custodian. For information we may hold, use the Contact page; we can search the contact mailbox and applicable logs for a responsive request.
